Current issues for the Student Councils include Ethos, Facilities and Eco Schools.
The
Secondary Student Council meets every second Wednesday in
Mrs Benning's room at 1:15pm. It consists of pupil representatives
from across all year groups. There are 3 staff members: Mrs Benning,
Mr Woodrow and
Mrs Cook, as well as SMT link Mrs Duncan. If you have any matters
you wish to raise with the council please see a representative,
wearing green ‘Council’ badge, or submit a note to any staff
member.
National Spring Clean
On Friday 3rd April, 24 pupils and 4 staff
took part in a litter pick organised by the secondary Student
Council in support of National Spring Clean campaign.
The group worked from the bottom of Alma
Avenue, through the school grounds, onto Urlar Road and into
the Lower Birks.
The Primary Pupil Council meets every
other Wednesday at lunchtime. There are representatives from
each class (P3-P7). The representatives are chosen by their
class mates. It is the reps responsibility to bring any concerns
or suggestions from their class to the council to be discussed.
Once discussed members will decide what action if any needs to
be taken.
Astroturf – Tamzin took the comments and information to Caroline
Nash to take to the Parent Council.
Buses – Behaviour on the 23 and 826.
Current Meeting
Joe will not be taking over for the foreseeable future.
Birks Cinema – 2 representatives from the Student Council go to
a meeting. In the future maybe passing onto D of E for their
Service section. Looking into designing and reinstating a fully
functional cinema in Aberfeldy. Tamzin and Shelley are to go to
the meeting.
Homework Policy – Parents concerned about Pupils not getting
homework from classes or not doing it. Staff will need to check
up on the homework. Teachers are going to produce a list of when
they are going to give homework and they can see which other
subjects are giving homework. The comments made will be taken to
the Parent Council and the SMT.
School Aims – This will go onto the School website. Decisions
that are being made, must or should go through the Parent
Council, Staff and Student Council.
Locks in toilets – Hollie to talk to Janitors about the locks
being broken.
If the toilets are not looked after, THEY WILL BE LOCKED!.
Ciara Menzies kept objects from the old school and is wanting to
create a sculpture or something for the new school.
Items for purchase. Tamzin to speak to Caroline Nash about how
much we have to spend. We still like the turntable and Laptop
and music idea for both the primary and the secondary. Tshirts
for houses are also high on the agenda.

add an item to the agenda see any student council member. If an
issue is not on the agenda then it is unlikely to be brought up in
the meeting.
Members unable to attend should send the Secretary or Chair their
apologies before the date of the meeting.
