S1 On Our Doorstep Project

Throughout this year our S1 pupils will be taking part in a cross curricular project focussing on various aspects of the surrounding area including local business, history, landscape and culture. To launch this project all S1 pupils participated in a visit to Stewart Towers Dairies, Stanley Mills and the JD Ferguson Gallery Museum on Monday 25th August.

The pupils are following up this initial work in lessons and will complete a self assessment log book and portfolio of their work in a variety of subject areas. Both pupils and staff enjoyed the day and we would like to thank staff at Stewart Towers Dairies, Stanley Mills and JD Ferguson Gallery for their help and support.

The timetable of activities for this project is listed below. The main event will be a showcase of pupils work and out annual fair-trade fashion show. This will take place in May in our new school and we are hoping for a local celebrity figure to open this event.
