Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI)
The Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is undertaken during the first two terms of S3 in RMPS and PSE. We aim to empower young people to make a real difference in their communities.
Through this programme, students research local charities, learn about social issues, and present their findings in a bid to secure a £3,000 grant for a cause they care about. With the recent addition of a second-place prize of £450 donated by the Gannochy Trust, more local charities have benefitted.
It’s a hands-on way to develop teamwork, communication, and leadership skills while creating meaningful social impact. YPI helps students understand the power of philanthropy and the importance of giving back.
As a result of their efforts, pupils also complete the Religion, Beliefs and Values level 4 award.
